Card Outreach

The name of a nursing home or homebound parishioner is supplied to persons sending cards. Each person is contacted by phone, card and/or letter or visited to extend the parish family greetings. A monthly contact is recommended.

Ministry to the Sick

Trained extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist are assigned to bring the Sacrament on a regular basis to nursing homes, homebound and hospitalized parishioners.

Funeral Dinners

St. Agnes Cathedral offers a bereavement dinner in the dining room for the family of the deceased. Volunteers assist with shopping, preparation and serving of the meal. Bereavement cards are sent to the grieving families.

Center City Christian Outreach

The members of St. Agnes can take pride in the success of the Center City Christian Outreach, Inc  (CCCO). It  is an ecumenical endeavor involving nine Christian churches who “collaborate to witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice, and make no distinction toward those served, because in them we see the face of Christ.” You probably know it by the name of its food pantry, the Well of Life.

The Well of Life Resource Center, located 418 S. Kimbrough Ave , is a project of the CCCO.  Its hours are 10-2 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The phone number is 869-2865. Volunteers are welcome.
