JUBILEE YEAR OF HOPE

The two cathedrals of the diocese, St. Agnes Cathedral, Springfield, and St. Mary of the Annunciation Cathedral, Cape Girardeau, are the designated locations for the Jubilee Year of Hope. In St. Mary Cathedral, to the front left, pilgrims may find an actual relic of the True Cross. In St. Agnes Cathedral, near the Blessed Sacrament, pilgrims will find a crucifix on display. As part of the Jubilee Year, those who participate in the sacrament of penance and reconciliation and attend Holy Mass along with the reception of Holy Communion within a 20-day period of visiting the cathedral—praying the Nicene or Apostles Creed, the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be for the intentions of the Holy Father—may receive a plenary indulgence.
